Top Computer Vision Conferences in 2027: Dates and Locations

Dr. Jagreet Kaur Gill | 09 October 2026

The three flagship computer vision conferences in 2027 are WACV (4–8 January, Orlando), CVPR (20–24 June, Seattle) and ICCV (2–8 October, Hong Kong). ECCV runs in even years, so the next one is in 2028.

What changed in 2026

  • CVPR 2026 set records. Denver, 3–7 June: 12,200 registrants from 84 countries, 16,092 submissions (up 24%) and 4,089 accepted papers (CVPR).
  • Industry showed up. CVPR 2026 had 118 exhibitors, more than a quarter of them first-timers, with embodied AI, autonomous vehicles and agentic AI as main themes (CVPR).
  • ECCV 2026 ran in Malmö. 8–12 September, with about 10,800 submissions, about 2,800 accepted papers and about 6,000 attendees (Lund University).
  • CVPR 2027 confirmed for Seattle, at the Seattle Convention Center (CVPR).

What to watch in 2027

  • Vision-language and world models: models that reason over video and text together, the basis of Physical AI.
  • Edge deployment: running vision models on cameras and small devices, not only in data centres.
  • From perception to action: vision feeding AI agents that act on equipment and workflows (what is Physical AI).
  • Safety and governance: evaluation, bias and audit for vision systems in regulated settings.

Getting value as an industry team

  1. Pick sessions and workshops on your use case before you go; the programmes are large.
  2. Spend expo time on deployment and edge vendors, not only model demos.
  3. Bring one real problem and its data constraints to discuss with researchers.

Where it's heading: 2026 → 2030

WhenWhat it looks like
Around 2020CVPR and ECCV 2020 moved online during COVID-19; industry attendance was mostly recruiting.
2026 (now)Record in-person events (CVPR 2026: 12,200 registrants, 16,092 submissions), with embodied AI, robotics and agents at the centre.
By 2028 (expected)CVPR 2027 in Seattle and ICCV 2027 in Hong Kong; ECCV 2028 venue to be announced. Submission growth suggests deployment, evaluation and safety tracks keep expanding.
By 2030 (expected)Conferences become as much about deploying vision in physical AI as about new models, in line with Gartner's view that most frontline workers at international companies will be assisted by physical AI by 2030 (Gartner).
